What you can do when you can’t sleep
These days, there are a lot of people who just cannot sleep. There are several reasons for not being able to sleep like sleep apnea, typical tossing and turning or you are just not ready to fall asleep, yet. Whatever the case may be, eventually, you will fall asleep. Many people are just ‘night owls’ and usually do not lay their head on their pillow until after midnight. If this is the case, there is non-prescription or non habit forming ways to fall asleep in a reasonable time.
Here are some good ways to help you fall asleep without any drug intervention:
Listening to Nature Sounds or Classical Music: If you are a fan of nature sounds like the sound of the ocean, rain falling, quite stream, sound of thunder or birds singing, this is an excellent way to fall asleep. This can be listened to on a CD or by purchasing a Nature Sounds Machine from any mass retailer. If on the other hand you prefer classical or jazz music for falling asleep, then by all means, listen to this type of music.
Using a Breathe Right Strip: These little things are one of the best inventions and are a must use item for taking naps or sleeping at night. These strips will open up your nasal passages allowing you to breathe better at night. Yes, being able to breathe properly is a big reason many people cannot fall asleep and assume then need some sort of drug to make them drowsy and ‘fall asleep’. There is no drug on the market that will make you feel safe and stay healthy when attempting to fall asleep.
Humidifiers for Sleeping Better: There are new types of humidifiers for people who just cannot fall asleep these days. These humidifiers can help with asthma problems as well as allergy issues. If before now, a humidifier never came to mind about sleeping better at night. It is time to rethink what new and improved humidifiers do for those lacking proper sleep. You can even get some with built in reed diffusers so you can fall asleep to soothing scents, which apparently help emotional and mental health.
Lotions and Sprays for Sleeping Better: These days, there are several bath and body companies that make and sell natural remedies for sleeping better or falling asleep better at night. These remedies are amazing and again, do not require a doctor’s prescription. With a lavender/chamomile or lavender spray, all you do is spray a few pumps on your pillow, sheets, blanket and sleepwear. A lavender spay not only is natural, but is smells great too. Along with a spray is a lavender lotion. A lavender/chamomile or lavender lotion can be rubbed on your arms, hands, or chest. Once the lotion is breathed in, you will begin to feel calm and fall asleep faster than ever before.
It is amazing what products you can use to fall asleep safely and without placing any undo harm on your body or mind. It is also so much better to look to cures for any health problem in nature and not man.
